Privacy Policy

Pak Social Inc. — Effective April 1, 2026

Introduction

Protecting your private information is our priority. This Privacy Policy applies to the Pak mobile application ("Pak" or the "App") and the website located at https://www.paksocial.app, both operated by Pak Social Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect your personal information when you use our App and related services.

Pak is a social media and networking application designed for dog owners. By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

Notice at Collection

This section provides a summary of our data collection practices at or before the point of collection, as required by California law. For full details, please read the complete Privacy Policy below.

Categories of personal information we collect: Identifiers (name, email, phone number, device identifiers, IP address); personal information under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.80(e); characteristics of protected classifications (age, gender); commercial information (purchases, subscriptions); internet/network activity (usage data, in-app behavior); geolocation data (precise location when enabled); audio/visual information (photos you upload); and inferences (preferences, AI-generated context and recommendations).

Purposes of collection: To operate and provide the App's features; personalize your experience; deliver and measure advertisements; power AI-assisted features; communicate with you; analyze and improve our services; detect fraud and enforce our policies; and comply with legal obligations.

Sale or sharing of personal information: We share certain data (device identifiers, IP addresses, usage data) with Google AdMob for personalized advertising. This may constitute "sharing" as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You may opt out at any time by visiting the "Privacy Settings" page within the App, by visiting the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on our website, or by adjusting your device's advertising/tracking settings. See the "Your Privacy Rights" section below for full details.

Retention: We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and delete or de-identify most categories within 30 days of account deletion. Certain data may be retained longer as described in the "Data Retention" section below.

Information We Collect

We collect information in several ways depending on how you interact with Pak.

Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account, use features, or communicate with us, you may provide:

Account information: first and last name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and gender

Profile information: profile photos, bio text, and display preferences

Pet profile information: your dog's name, breed, age, weight, temperament, vaccination records, photos, and other pet-related details

User-generated content: posts, comments, messages, photos, and other content you share through the App

Communications: messages you send to other users through the App's messaging features, and correspondence you send to us for customer support

Payment information: if you purchase products or services, we collect billing and payment card information, which is processed by our third-party payment processors and used solely to complete transactions

Third-party sign-in data: if you register using Facebook, Google, or Apple, we receive certain profile information from those services (such as your name, email address, and profile photo) as authorized by you during the sign-in process

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we automatically collect certain information, including:

Device information: device type, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (including advertising identifiers such as IDFA on iOS and GAID on Android), mobile network information, and app version

Usage data: pages and features accessed, time spent in the App, actions taken (such as likes, follows, and messages sent), search queries, and interaction patterns

Location data: with your permission, we collect precise location data from your device using GPS, Bluetooth, and/or Wi-Fi signals. We use this data to provide location-based features such as finding nearby dog parks, events, and other users. You may disable location services through your device settings, but this will limit access to certain features. When location services are enabled, we may collect location data while the App is active

Log data: IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, date/time stamps, and clickstream data

Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from third-party sources, including social media platforms you use to sign in, advertising partners, and analytics providers. We combine this information with data we collect directly to improve our services.

Tracking Technologies, SDKs, and Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party software development kits (SDKs) and services. Each may collect data directly from your device:

Firebase Analytics (provided by Google LLC). Purpose: App usage analytics, feature adoption measurement, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. Data collected: device identifiers (including advertising ID), app interaction events, session data, device model/OS version, crash logs, and general location derived from IP address. This data is used by us to understand how users interact with the App and to improve features and performance. Firebase Analytics does not use this data to serve personalized ads. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC). Purpose: Serving in-app advertisements, including personalized ads based on user interests and behavior. Data collected: advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID), IP address, device information, general location derived from IP address, ad interaction data (views, clicks), and app usage signals. AdMob uses this data to select and deliver ads, measure ad performance, and build interest-based advertising profiles. This data sharing may constitute "sharing" of personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You can opt out of personalized ads through: (a) the "Privacy Settings" page within the App; (b) your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization); or (c) the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on our website. Google's advertising privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

Third-party AI provider. Purpose: Powering Pak Pal AI features, including personalized recommendations and daily briefings. Data processed: user prompts, profile data, pet profile data, and AI context summaries are transmitted to our third-party AI service provider for processing. This provider processes data on our behalf under contractual obligations that prohibit them from using your data for their own purposes, including training their own models. See the "AI-Powered Features" section below for full details.

Payment processors. Purpose: Processing in-app purchases, subscriptions, and refunds. Data collected: payment card details, billing address, transaction amounts, and purchase history. Payment card information is handled directly by our payment processors and is not stored on our servers.

Cloud hosting providers. Purpose: Storing and serving App data, including user accounts, content, and media. Data stored: all categories of personal information described in this Privacy Policy. Our hosting providers process data on our behalf under contractual data processing agreements.

Cookies and similar technologies. Our website may use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to recognize your browser, remember preferences, and analyze traffic. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Apple App Tracking Transparency

On iOS devices, we respect Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. Before any tracking that links your data with data from other companies' apps or websites, we will request your permission through the ATT prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," we will not share your IDFA with advertising partners for cross-app tracking, and ads served to you will not be personalized based on cross-app data.

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals, as there is no industry-standard method for honoring such signals in mobile applications.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To create and manage your account and provide the core features of the App

To facilitate connections between users and their dogs, including playdate scheduling and community features

To provide location-based services and features when you have granted location permission

To personalize your experience and deliver relevant content and recommendations

To power AI-assisted features, including Pak Pal personalized recommendations and daily briefings

To display advertisements, including personalized ads through Google AdMob

To measure advertising performance and attribute ad conversions

To communicate with you regarding your account, services, promotions, and updates

To moderate content and enforce our Terms & Conditions and Community Guidelines using automated and human review

To analyze usage trends, diagnose technical issues, and improve the App's functionality and performance

To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and abuse

To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities

AI-Powered Features and Data Usage

Pak includes AI-powered features, including "Pak Pal," which provides personalized recommendations, insights, and daily briefings related to your dog's care and your social activity on the platform.

How Pak Pal Works

To deliver personalized recommendations, Pak Pal uses snapshot summaries and AI context files derived from your profile information, pet profiles, activity within the App, and your interactions with the AI feature. These summaries are created, retained, and updated over time to improve the relevance and quality of recommendations provided to you.

Your prompts, profile data, pet profile data, and AI context summaries are transmitted to a third-party AI service provider for processing. This provider operates under a contractual agreement with Pak Social that prohibits them from: using your data to train, improve, or fine-tune their own models or any third-party models; retaining your data beyond the duration needed to process each request; and using your data for any purpose other than providing the AI service to Pak Social on your behalf.

Human Review

AI-generated content is produced by automated systems without routine human review of individual prompts or responses. Our team may review aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to improve the feature. In cases where content moderation flags are triggered, a human moderator may review relevant content in accordance with our Community Guidelines.

Model Training

Your individual prompts, responses, and AI context data are not used to train or improve the underlying AI models. Our third-party AI provider is contractually prohibited from using your data for model training purposes.

AI Context Data Management

AI context files and snapshot summaries are currently tied to your account and are deleted when you delete your account (within the 30-day deletion window described in the Data Retention section). We do not currently offer the ability to independently view, export, or delete AI context data separately from your account. We may add this capability in a future update, and we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly if we do.

Sensitive Data in AI Context

Because Pak Pal generates context from your activity, the AI context files may contain information derived from your pet's health details, your location activity, your social interactions, and your messaging patterns within the App. We treat AI context data with the same security protections as other personal data described in the Data Security section.

Limitations

AI-generated content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. It may not always be accurate, complete, or current. AI-generated content does not constitute veterinary, medical, legal, or other professional advice. You should always verify important information and consult qualified professionals when making decisions about your pet's health or care.

How We Share Your Information

Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. These include cloud hosting, analytics (Firebase Analytics), payment processing, customer support, email delivery, and AI processing (for Pak Pal). These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us and are required to maintain the confidentiality and security of your data.

Advertising Partners

We share certain information with Google AdMob to deliver and measure advertisements within the App. This includes device advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID), IP addresses, and general usage signals. AdMob may use this data to build interest-based advertising profiles and serve personalized ads. This sharing may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You have the right to opt out as described in the "Your Privacy Rights" section below.

Other Users

Information you include in your profile and content you post on the App is visible to other users. Please exercise caution when sharing personal information in public-facing areas of the App.

Business Transfers

If Pak Social Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your personal information, without prior notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) comply with legal process or applicable law; (b) protect and defend our rights or property; (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users or the public; or (d) cooperate with law enforcement investigations.

With Your Consent

We may share your information with third parties when you have provided explicit consent to do so.

Data Retention

We retain different categories of personal information for different periods, based on the purpose for which the data was collected and our legal obligations. When you delete your account, we initiate our deletion process within 30 days unless an exception applies.

Account and profile data (name, email, phone, profile photos, bio, preferences): Deleted or de-identified within 30 days of account deletion.

Pet profile data (dog name, breed, age, photos, health details): Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

User-generated content (posts, comments, photos shared publicly): Removed from public display within 30 days of account deletion. Content previously shared, reposted, or cached by other users may persist beyond this period.

Messages (direct messages between users): Deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Messages may remain visible to other conversation participants until those participants also delete their accounts.

AI context files and snapshot summaries: Deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Not independently deletable at this time.

Payment and transaction records: Retained for up to 7 years after the transaction date as required by tax and financial reporting obligations.

Analytics and usage logs: Aggregated and de-identified within 90 days. De-identified analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Fraud, security, and abuse logs: Retained for up to 2 years to support fraud prevention, security investigations, and enforcement of our Terms.

Backup copies: Deleted from backup systems within 90 days following deletion from primary systems.

Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytical and product improvement purposes.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

Encryption of data in transit using TLS/HTTPS for all communications between the App and our servers

Access controls limiting employee and contractor access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

Regular security assessments and vulnerability monitoring

Employee and contractor training on data protection practices

Contractual security requirements imposed on all third-party service providers

User messages sent through the App's messaging features are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on our servers. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted, which means that our systems (and authorized personnel in limited circumstances, such as investigating reported abuse) can access message content. We recommend that you do not share highly sensitive personal information (such as financial account details or government identification numbers) through the App's messaging features.

Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. If we become aware of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law, and in no event later than as required by the laws of your state of residence.

Automated Decision-Making

We use automated systems in several areas of the App. This section explains what decisions are automated, what impact they may have on you, and how you can request human review.

Content moderation: We use automated systems to scan user-generated content (posts, photos, messages, and profile information) for violations of our Community Guidelines and Terms & Conditions. Automated moderation may result in content being removed, flagged for human review, or your account being temporarily restricted. False positives are possible. If your content is removed or your account is restricted by an automated system, you may contact us at info@paksocial.app to request a human review of the decision.

Personalized recommendations: We use automated systems, including Pak Pal, to generate personalized content recommendations, daily briefings, and suggested connections. These recommendations are based on your profile data, pet profiles, activity patterns, location (when enabled), and AI context summaries. The impact of these automated decisions is limited to the content and suggestions you see within the App; they do not affect your account standing or access to features.

Personalized advertising: Google AdMob uses automated profiling to select advertisements shown to you based on device identifiers, usage signals, and inferred interests. You can opt out of personalized advertising as described in the "Tracking Technologies" and "Your Privacy Rights" sections above.

Fraud and abuse detection: We use automated systems to detect suspicious activity, spam, and abuse patterns. These systems may result in accounts being flagged, temporarily suspended, or referred for human review. If your account is affected, you may contact us at info@paksocial.app.

For any automated decision that materially affects your account or access to the App, you have the right to request human review by contacting us at info@paksocial.app. We will respond to such requests within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 10 business days.
