Community Guidelines

Pak Social Inc. — Effective July 27, 2026

What Pak Is For

Pak is a place for dog owners to learn from each other, keep track of their dogs’ care, and find people nearby who get it — and these guidelines exist so it stays that kind of place.

They apply everywhere members can post or send something: the forum, direct messages, group chats, profile photo and video posts, captions and comments, community spotlight, adoption listings, lost dog reports, and events. They sit alongside our Terms & Conditions, which remain the binding agreement between you and Pak Social. If something here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control.

We would rather explain the reasoning than hand you a rulebook, so most of what follows is plain English. But the short version is this: treat other members the way you would at a dog park, and never post anything that puts an animal, a person, or a child at risk.

Our Moderation Response Commitment

We are a small team, and we would rather tell you exactly what to expect than leave it vague.

Every report submitted through the app is acknowledged and reviewed by a person on our team within 24 hours.

Reports involving an immediate safety risk — animal cruelty or abuse, credible threats of violence, or anything involving the safety of a child — are escalated for immediate review, ahead of everything else in the queue. We act on those as soon as we see them, at any hour, and we remove the content first and work out the details afterwards.

“Reviewed” means a human being has looked at the reported content and decided what happens to it: leave it up, take it down, warn the member who posted it, suspend them, or ban them. It does not mean we will always agree with the person who reported it, and it does not mean we will explain every decision in detail — but it does mean a person looked.

Separately from reports, content caught by our automated scanning is taken out of view the moment it is posted. That happens in seconds, not hours. See “How We Enforce These Guidelines” below for what that system does and does not cover.

What’s Not Allowed

The following will get content removed, and depending on severity, will get an account suspended or banned:

Harassment and abuse: threatening, bullying, demeaning, or repeatedly targeting another member. That includes pile-ons in comment threads, unwanted messages after someone has asked you to stop, and shaming someone over how they care for their dog. Disagreeing about training methods is fine. Attacking the person is not.

Animal cruelty and content depicting harm to animals: footage or images of animals being beaten, tormented, staged to fight, deliberately neglected, or otherwise harmed. This applies whether the content is presented approvingly, as a joke, or as outrage bait. Do not post it. If you have witnessed animal cruelty, report it to your local authorities and to us — do not upload it to the community.

Graphic injury imagery without care context: wounds, surgical sites, and injuries can be genuinely useful when you are asking “does this look infected?” or documenting a recovery. Posting graphic injury or death imagery for shock value, or without any care-related reason, is not allowed.

Sexual content: nudity, sexually explicit material, sexual solicitation, and any sexualized content involving animals or minors. Pak is not a dating app and it is not a place for adult content of any kind.

Hate speech: content attacking or degrading people based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, or physical appearance. Also included: hateful slurs, hate symbols, and content promoting hateful organizations.

Spam, scams, and unauthorized selling: bulk or repetitive posting, engagement farming, phishing, fake rehoming or lost dog posts used to solicit money, deposit scams, fraudulent fundraisers, and using the forum, listings, or direct messages as an advertising channel. Commercial activity on Pak requires our permission — see our Terms & Conditions.

Impersonation: pretending to be another person, another member, a business, a rescue organization, or a veterinary practice. Use your real name, and do not misrepresent your credentials or affiliations.

Sharing other people’s personal information: posting someone’s home address, phone number, email, workplace, financial details, or screenshots of private conversations without their consent. This applies to members and non-members alike.

Dangerous advice presented as veterinary guidance: telling another member to give a specific medication or dose, to skip veterinary care, to treat a serious symptom at home, or to use a training method with a real risk of injury — and framing that as professional instruction. See “Health and Veterinary Content” below.

Illegal activity: anything unlawful where you live or where the content is seen, including illegal breeding operations, unlicensed or illegal sales of animals, trafficking, dog fighting, drug sales, and content that encourages or facilitates any of the above.

Attempting to get around an enforcement decision — creating a new account after a ban, or using another member’s account — is itself a violation and will result in the new account being removed too.

Health and Veterinary Content

A lot of the most valuable conversation on Pak is about health, and we want to keep it that way. Asking whether anyone else’s dog has had a symptom, sharing what worked for you, or posting a photo and asking “should I be worried about this?” is exactly what the community is for.

What is not allowed is presenting yourself as something you are not. Do not claim to be a veterinarian, veterinary technician, or other licensed professional unless you are one. Do not diagnose another member’s dog, prescribe medication or dosages, or tell someone their dog does not need to see a vet. Share your experience — do not issue clinical instructions.

The same limit applies to everything Pak itself produces. Pak’s lessons, health tracking, and AI-assisted coaching — including Pak Pal — are educational. They help you organize records, notice patterns, and prepare better questions. They do not constitute veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and they are not a substitute for seeing a veterinarian. When something is wrong with your dog, call your vet.

How We Enforce These Guidelines

Automated Scanning

New content posted to Pak is scanned automatically as it is written. We use OpenAI’s moderation service to do this: the /v1/moderations endpoint for text — captions, comments, forum posts and replies, and chat messages — and the omni-moderation-latest model for images. Content that trips a threshold is taken out of view immediately and archived rather than destroyed, so that it can be restored if the system got it wrong.

We want to be straight with you about the limits of this. Videos are scanned through their poster frame where one exists. Videos sent in direct messages, and some profile videos, do not currently generate a poster frame, and those are not automatically scanned — they depend on member reports and human review. Automated scanning also produces false positives and false negatives; it is a first pass, not a verdict. That is why reporting and appeals both matter.

Member Reports

Reports from members are how we catch what the automated systems miss, and they carry real weight. Every report lands in a moderator queue and is handled on the timeline set out in “Our Moderation Response Commitment” above.

Human Review

A person on our team reviews every report and every appeal. Where context matters — and with dogs it usually does — we look at the surrounding conversation, not just the reported item.

What Happens When A Guideline Is Broken

Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may: remove the content; issue a warning; restrict specific features; suspend the account temporarily; or ban the account permanently. Severe violations — animal cruelty, threats, sexual content involving minors, and illegal activity — skip the warning stage and result in immediate removal and a ban. Where the law requires it or safety demands it, we will also report content to the appropriate authorities.

How To Report Something

You can report content directly in the app from wherever you find it — posts, captions, comments, forum questions and replies, direct and group messages, adoption listings, lost dog reports, events, community spotlight entries, and member profiles all have a report option. Tell us briefly what the problem is; it helps us review faster.

You can also block another member. Blocking is immediate, it does not require us to review anything first, and the person you block is not told about it. Blocking and reporting are separate actions — if something breaks these guidelines, please report it as well as blocking, so we can deal with it for everyone else too.

If you cannot reach the report option for any reason, or you need to raise something urgent, email us at info@paksocial.app and put “Report” in the subject line.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, or you are reporting active animal cruelty, contact your local emergency services or animal control first. Then tell us, so we can remove the content.

Appeals

If we removed your content or restricted your account and you think we got it wrong, tell us. Automated moderation makes mistakes, and so do we.

Email info@paksocial.app with “Appeal” in the subject line and include: the email address or username on your Pak account, what was removed or restricted, roughly when it happened, and why you believe the decision was wrong.

Because flagged content is archived rather than deleted outright, we can usually look at the exact item in question and restore it if the call was wrong. A person will review your appeal and reply, and we aim to do that within three business days. If we uphold the original decision, we will say so plainly.

Appeals about automated decisions are also covered by the human review rights described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes To These Guidelines

Communities change, and so do the problems they run into. We may update these Guidelines from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page, and we will let you know in the app if the change is significant. Continuing to use Pak after an update means you accept it.
